Accessible Claude

Built for a keyboard and a screen reader, not retrofitted.

The same agentic coding sessions, commands, and behaviour as Claude Code — in a desktop app rebuilt from the ground up for a keyboard, a screen reader, and eyes that need large, high-contrast type.

High contrast, ultra-large, keyboard-first

Nothing in Accessible Claude is conveyed by sight alone, and nothing requires a mouse.

  • A streaming transcript announced in calm, buffered chunks — never token-by-token flooding, and it never steals your focus
  • Fixed high-contrast themes, plus a curated set of alternatives including a colour-blind-safe variant, with an ultra-large font on by default
  • Fully keyboard-first: no mouse required anywhere, a visible high-contrast focus ring, a logical focus order, and no keyboard traps
  • Nothing conveyed by colour or icon alone — every status, state, and spinner has a text and spoken equivalent — verified against NVDA and Narrator on Windows

You approve every change

The agent asks before it acts, and stays out of your way when it’s only reading.

  • Safe-Deny approvals: before the agent edits a file or runs a command, you get an accessible prompt that shows the exact change as text and defaults to Deny
  • Read-only tools — reading, searching, browsing files and the web — run without interrupting you
  • API keys are stored in the operating system’s secure storage, never in a plain file, and never appear in the transcript, logs, or speech
  • Runs a full agentic coding session with the same commands and behaviour as Claude Code

Frequently asked

Which screen readers does Accessible Claude work with?

It’s verified against NVDA and Narrator on Windows. Everything in the app is operable by keyboard alone, and nothing is conveyed by sight alone.

Can I change the theme or font size?

Yes. Accessible Claude ships with fixed high-contrast themes and a curated set of alternatives, including a colour-blind-safe variant, plus an ultra-large font that’s on by default.

Do I need a mouse?

No. The app is fully keyboard-first — every action, menu, and control is reachable and operable without a mouse.

Does it have the same commands as Claude Code?

Yes. Accessible Claude runs the same agentic coding sessions, with the same commands and behaviour as Claude Code, inside a desktop app rebuilt for accessibility.
